Global Warming Melts the Antarctic
November 28, 2056 - Today, Antarctica has officially melted due to the effects of global warming. The average surface temperature in Antarctica was minus 37 degrees C on November 15, and in only 13 days has risen to 45* C, a 7 degree increase. This is the fastest increase ever in recorded history.
Formerly, Antarctica had 90 percent of the world’s ice. It’s ice covering was an average of about 1.9 miles deep. There is evidence that a section of ice called the West Antarctic Ice Sheet, only a half-mile deep, melted first, which caused the ocean’s level to unexpectedly rise 200 feet two days ago.
Since the melting of Antarctica, age –enhanced President Al Gore has predicted grave circumstances. “We have only about three more days to live”, he said, “however very few know this to be true”. He has been talking about global warming all his life. In 2006 Al Gore made a movie about global warming that shocked the world, titled Inconvenient Truth. For years, he has been trying everything to help it, but when he heard that Antarctica had melted there was nothing to do to stop it.
Here in the United States, coastal cities such as Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, as well as Miami have all sunk. Jennifer Wilson from Chicago said she lived in San Francisco half of her life but had to move because of the rising sea level. Her friends and family have all drowned and now she has very little to live for.
