Here are thoughts about the future from one of the participants of the Street-Level Youth Media’s Summer Arts Apprenticeship Program 2007, "Technology and the Future":

More Species of Animals Extinct

January 1, 2050 – As of today 1 out of 10 species of animals that were alive during the turn of the century have become extinct. Climate changes, destruction of habitats, and animals being hunted have all contributed to these animals and plants dying out. Its is impossible to determine exactly how many animals there are on there earth but it is easy to see that a large amount of these animals are dying rapidly.

Argument: Climate changes are becoming more and more noticeable within the atmosphere, and polar bears have been drowning because of the need to swim long distances. Also birds have been having harder times migragrating over long distance.

Question: Are the temperature changes going to be so bad that humans will one day not be able to with stand it?
