Here are thoughts about the future from one of the participants of the Street-Level Youth Media’s Summer Arts Apprenticeship Program 2007, "Technology and the Future":

The Only Way to Drive - Auto Safety Way Up in 2053

Luther Corp. at 4pm east coast time May 21, 2053 is having a massive vehicle collision on the nation’s major highways. “The purpose of this is to show the safety of the auto- motive vehicle at this day age and Huber craft” said by a spokesman for the company. There has been a big drop in automobile crashes seen 2008.

Yearly crash in the first decade of the 21 century was around 6.5 million crashes a year (Car-Accidents.com). Most of the crash was due to inexperienced drivers and a handful of DUI (driving under the influence). In 2007 this new technology of allowing the vehicle to detect when the diver was under the influence by the sweating of the palms or body temperature provided by the driver seat.

Nissan pioneered this new wave of safety for vehicle. The smart technology was advance over the years to the point were by 2017 there was a dramatic drop. So dramatic that the yearly crash was down to only around 300,000 hundred a year-- an enormous drop. In the last 30 years the world of car crashes has just disappeared in to thin air. Not a single crash in 30 years have been widely praised but some still have there doubts. So to show the big group of doubters, Luther Corp., decided to show the world they are safer than ever before.
