India is Now More Populous than China
July 1, 2030 - It is now officially declared that India has passed China, excluding Hong Kong, as the most populous nation in the world according to the UN. The two nations "met" at 1.448 billion people each. The population of India is estimated to increase to 1.593 billion by year 2050.
The reason for the switch on the population throne is the lower fertility for China that will continue to decrease the number of Chinese to 1.390 billion for the next 20 years.
Argument: According to the United Nations, India will pass China as the most populous nation in the world by 2030.
Questions: If India has not got a permanent place in the United Nations Security Council by the time, will they demand it when they become the most populous nation in the world? Will this cause a change in foreign investment in low-cost labor to India from China?

Comments:
One of the larger nations needs to be outside of the UNSC. Just My Openion.

well india won't get a place in the un security council because increase in population, but it would be a result of its being emerging as a global power in a econimic, political and military sense. By the year 2050, India is projected to become the third largest economy in the world, behind China and the United States, in that order, according to a recent report by Goldman Sachs. This power will enable to propel india as a member of world un security council. India fa ced a major issue of population explosion and due to the lethargy of the govenment adequate measures are not being adopted because of which there is a real issue of population going out of control. Hope the government of india realises this soon!!!!!!

To Ameya: Surely you do not believe the Indian government is oblivious to its own population outburst? Back in the late '80s the Indian government tried to put a cap on the national birthrate...unfortunately the leader that tried to apply this law in society was killed in a car bombing. Ever since then, the issue is rarely brought to attention anymore.

There are somewhere between 5 million to 10 billion people on the planet.
Though only about 100 to 1000 people are important to you.
