
April 26, 2050 - Scientists say they believe that more than 40,000 species are extinguished every year, compared to approximately 20-30,000 species 50 years ago. The reason for the increase is the global warming and rise of temperatures by 0.8 degrees Celsius since year 2000. Climate scientists believe that the temperature will continue to rise during the other half of this century, which will give an even higher extinguished rate in the future.
